Dressings containing Manuka honey are used primarily in the treatment of chronic wounds such as limb ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, as well as cancer wounds and after radiotherapy, in the case of infected wounds characterized by high exudate and unpleasant odor or also infected by certain types of microorganisms (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, anaerobes, silver-resistant bacteria). 

Honey has a number of unique properties used in the treatment of wounds. First of all, these are antibacterial, osmotic and bioactive properties that influence the rapid cleansing and healing of the wound.

Activon Tulle is a non-adherent dressing soaked in the optimal dose of Manuka honey, intended for effective wound treatment. Activon is manufactured according to the highest hygiene standards. Contains pure Manuka honey without any additives.

Activon Tulle provides a moist environment in the wound and effectively reduces its unpleasant odor.

How to use:

Activon Tulle is placed (either side) on the wound surface. For large surfaces, dressings can be placed next to each other or cut to fit the wound.

Activon Tulle can also be rolled out to cover a larger area of ​​the wound, but this will reduce the concentration of honey on the wound surface. Depending on the type of tissue within the wound bed or the level of exudate, the second dressing used may be a foil dressing or an absorbent dressing.

 Advantages:

• The antibacterial activity of honey is mainly related to the action of hydrogen peroxide, produced under the influence of the enzyme contained in honey - glucose oxidase.
• Osmotic effect - Honey, as a substance with high osmolarity, drains excess water, which prevents maceration of the wound edges and excessive accumulation of active substances in the wound environment. Moreover, it stimulates its autolytic cleansing processes and inhibits the growth of bacterial flora.
• Faster wound healing - Honey rich in water-soluble antioxidants has a beneficial effect on stimulating the granulation and epithelialization processes.
• Reduction of unpleasant odor from the wound - In the case of wounds with an unpleasant odor, dressings with honey reduce this unpleasant feature. In the case of wounds with a high degree of exudate, an additional dressing with highly absorbent properties can be used. We recommend the highly absorbent Eclypse dressing.

Indications:

Activon Tulle can be used on any type of wound, in particular on places with deliquescent necrosis, necrotic wounds and wounds emitting an unpleasant odor, including: limb ulcers, pressure sores, wounds with an unpleasant odor, wounds with dry and delirious tissue .
