Algivon is an alginate dressing soaked in 100% medical Manuka honey, measuring 5 cm x 5 cm. It is an absorbent dressing that does not stick to the wound and creates a moist environment that supports the granulation process. Honey combined with alginate creates a gel that stays well in the injured place.

Algivon is recommended for treating deep, fissure, acute and chronic wounds, including clinically infected wounds in the cleansing and granulation phase. It can be used on any type of wound, including wounds with deliquescent necrosis and wounds with an unpleasant odor, such as leg ulcers, pressure sores, cancer wounds, complicated surgical wounds and abrasions.

Algivon has many advantages, including antibacterial activity, osmotic effect, faster wound healing, reduction of unpleasant wound odor, absorption of exudate, adaptation to the wound and non-adhesion to the wound, which allows for painless dressing changes.

Application of Algivon dressing

Algivon dressing can be placed on either side of the wound, and individual dressings can be stacked side by side and cut to fit irregular wound surfaces.

Algivon is available in 10 cm x 10 cm or 5 cm x 5 cm packs, with one dressing per pack.
