Product description
MANUKA IG MAX 10cm x 12.5cm is a sterile, non-stick dressing created from open-textured mesh, soaked in double the amount of medical Manuka honey (Leptospermum scoparium). The product is CMH (Certified Manuka Honey) certified, confirming its high quality and effectiveness in wound treatment.
Indications for use
MANUKA IG MAX dressings are intended to keep wounds in a moist environment to support the healing process. They can be used for:
- Minor abrasions
- Minor scrapes
- Minor cuts
- Minor, light burns
Application under the supervision of a specialist
Under the supervision of a doctor or specialist, MANUKA IG MAX can be used to treat:
- Leg ulcers
- Sores
- 1st and 2nd degree burns (superficial and incomplete thickness of the epidermis)
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Traumatic wounds
The moist wound environment stimulates autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue, which promotes the natural healing process.
Directions for use
- Remove the MANUKA IG MAX dressing from the bag.
- Remove protective pads.
- Apply the dressing directly to the wound with any side down.
- Cover with a secondary dressing appropriate to the level of exudate.
- If necessary, the dressing can be cut to size.
Frequency of dressing changes
The frequency of dressing changes depends on the level of wound exudate and other factors such as swelling or the secondary dressing used. If the exudate is heavy, the honey may be diluted and absorbed by the secondary dressing - in which case a more frequent change is required.
Do not use for longer than 30 days.
