MONOFILAMENT
Monofilament wird zur Diagnose der Wahrnehmung verschiedener Sinnesreize wie Berührung oder Schmerz verwendet. Dabei wird eine dünne und flexible Nadel an eine Stelle am Fuß geführt, die frei von Hornhaut ist.
Wenn die Nadel während der Untersuchung leicht gebogen ist und der Patient die Berührung an seinem Fuß nicht spürt, liegt höchstwahrscheinlich eine diabetische Neuropathie vor. In diesem Fall sollte der Patient zur weiteren Beratung an einen Arzt überwiesen werden.
Monofilament ermöglicht die Kontrolle von Temperaturreizen bei Patienten mit diabetischen Fußsymptomen.
